You cannot change S/N from F/W file.Solution is to get ( or buy) the write file for your particular printer(s) .Pay attention at F/W version when you request solution(s).Or else, may not work, or worse alterate your firmware (F/W).

Have you remove the cartridge chip, after update?
If not, remove it or cover with tape. |

i also wanted to know, how this programming goes...i have those fixed firmwares, but after update the indicator is red and says toner is empty...must i write my sn to somewhere in the program |

Thanks a lot Vasile and Titus but I don't have the printer. I was checking before buying it but, at last, I decided to buy a different one because of my short budget and it isnt for it isnt for my personal use, but If you have the firmware at hand and if it is not a trouble (maybe I will buy it for myself in the near future), could you post it?. Fix firmware only by S/N of equipment.
Are 2 versions of firmware : v.7 & v.8.
